Gallopade is a leading publisher of social studies curriculum, resources, and books. For over 40 years, Gallopade has been partnering with schools, teachers, libraries, museums, gift shops, and bookstores. Our resources include resource books, activity books, chapter books, maps, games, readers, and more. We are about to ramp back up and release several new books and resources over the next year.
The Director of Marketing will lead the planning, development, and implementation of a broad range of marketing programs to support key business objectives and to drive growth. This position will report directly to the President. The ideal candidate is independent, creative, analytical, tech-savvy, and able to effectively communicate with internal and external audiences.

Main Duties & Responsibilities
Lead all phases of brand strategy, annual planning, tactics, and resource allocation.
Establish performance KPIs spanning the customer purchase journey.
Collaborate with the sales team and identify areas of opportunity to align efforts.
Serve as the product subject matter expert across Gallopade product lines.
Ensure alignment with brand strategies and deliverable expectations are met and exceeded.
Define, develop, and enhance all value propositions, messaging and visual concepts used across channels.
Lead cross-functional collaboration to support key business priorities.
Apply customer insights and market research (quantitative and qualitative) to drive continuous improvement and further inform decision-making.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
B2C and B2B multi-channel marketing and advertising experience.
Ability to learn quickly, work independently, manage multiple tasks, and thrive within a dynamic team environment; flexibility and adaptability is critical.
Must possess strong communication, written, interpersonal, presentation and organizational skills.
Exceptional strategic marketing and creative thinking skills.
Extreme attention to detail.
Experience in eCommerce.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
High degree of organization and attention to detail with ability to manage multiple team members, priorities, and deadlines.
A desire to turn complex concepts into clearly articulated messaging.
Self-starter, creative, flexible, high energy, and “can do” attitude.
Required Past Experience:
8+ years of marketing experience, preferably at the national level (not local)
College degree in business, marketing, or communications.
Experience in the book publishing industry or education space a plus.
Excellent analytical and strategic thinking skills with the ability to support idea generation and/or new business initiatives, when required
Knowledge of InDesign, CRM software, Social Media Marketing and Measurement, and ESPs
Proficient with Microsoft Office and Google Drive
Ability to develop team members by coaching, training, and identifying areas of growth
