Gallopade is seeking a Project Manager to join our growing company as part of our Product Development team. The Project Manager is responsible for planning, organizing, and guiding teams in the development of print and digital educational resources for grades K-8. Gallopade is looking for a Project Manager who will transform our project development processes by implementing Agile (and hybrid) methodologies and practices to facilitate high levels of performance, quality, and other measures of success.
The #1 responsibility of the Project Manager is to facilitate the development and release of new print and digital products, features, enhancements, updates, and corrections. These deliverables must be done in scope, on time, and in budget to meet our customers’ expectations. Foundational characteristics essential to meeting customer expectations include content accuracy, ease of use (for teachers and students), effectiveness (at helping achieve learning goals), and detailed alignment to state learning standards (for curriculum products). Our other magical ingredients include enthusiasm, inclusivity, honesty, and more.
The Project Manager’s role in achieving these goals includes the following responsibilities and duties:
Work in partnership with Product Managers to maintain an up-to-date product roadmap, backlog, and schedule of sequenced releases.
Facilitate the pre-/planning of iterative sprints as components of SDLCs. Also facilitate the pre-/planning of product development projects that continue to follow a waterfall methodology and release schedule (typically print products).
Identify and document project scope, dependencies, and schedule; establish project milestones and metrics; identify and obtain resources required for project success.
Communicate project deliverables; lead daily stand-up meetings; manage project progress; remove obstacles to success.
Monitor team efforts to ensure prioritized work is aligned to sprints and roadmap.
Manage multiple concurrent projects within a fast-paced environment.
Adjust to unforeseen challenges, keeping the team workload balanced and manageable.
Continually evaluate and communicate realistic and accurate project statuses, maintaining project visibility and transparency.
Facilitate reviews, retrospectives, and other project-related meetings.
Coach staff on agile methodologies and mindset to drive continuous improvement.
Keep team members engaged in following company process protocols.
Manage QA projects, prioritizing the elimination of errors and bugs.
Maintain an accurate and up-to-date backlog; update process documentation.
Identify, collect, and share key metrics to improve individual and organizational excellence.
4+ years of experience as a Project Manager, Scrum Master, or Agile Coach.
Experience at waterfall (SDLC…) and agile (Scrum, Lean…) project management.
Expert at setting up and using project management and collaboration tools.
Demonstrated ability to lead multiple, concurrent teams and achieve high performance.
Preferred: 2+ years of experience in cloud-based software design/development.
Experience in any of these areas is a plus: content or asset management software, instructional design, K-12 curriculum resources; PM for teams of “creatives.”
