Q: How long have you been teaching?

A: I'm finishing up my third year teaching, all 3 years in the 2nd grade!

Q: What inspired you to pursue a career in education?

A: Helping my younger brother with his school work inspired me to pursue a career in education.

Q: What is your favorite thing about teaching or your biggest success story?

A: My favorite thing about teaching is the moments when I can have fun with my students and show my goofy side (especially field day)

Q: What challenges do you face in the classroom?

A: Understanding the behaviors being shown by some students and what is causing them has been the biggest struggle.

Q: What is something that every student should know about teachers?

A: We make mistakes more often than they know!

Q: What advice would you impart to a new teacher or someone who wants to become a teacher?

A: Find your people and lean on them (especially in your first year).

Q: What do you love to do when you're not teaching?

A: I love to read, play with my dog, and spend time with family and friends.

Thank you Abigail, we're so happy to be able to showcase teachers who are doing amazing work in their students' lives!
